I personally think people should be able to buddha mode themselves on the awesomebox idle server. Why? People won't have a reason to cry about spawncamping, or "friendly killing". They could just be buddha and kill idles or do whatever without anyone else having to put up with the tantrums. They're not exactly bannable but no one wants to deal with them either.

I go there to level my stranges and all, and I do try to remind the enemy team that I'm a friendly, but the people trying to do the same and crying every time they get sniped or blown up with stickies take it way too far.

</redundancy> It's not as if it'd be doing any harm to anybody. Anyone who's been on the unusual trade server where everything but unusuals are traded, you know how little drama buddha mode allows. Implement this please.

People who don't attack back may as well be idles. Why not just kill the idles?

that and if every one enbaled budda that would eventually make the server no longer fun to go to cause all the friendlies who then go idle would forget theyre buddah'd and then would stand at the bottom of the slide like that one retarded kid in recess
 
If they can implement timers that kick AFKers on other servers, I don't think it'd be too hard to time the deactivation of buddha on an idler.

Plus, there's not too much difference in mindlessly spawncamping and mindlessly running around the map without aim or mindlessly killing idles. Why are you worried about the fun of an IDLE server being ruined by relative peace?
 
so what I'm gathering from this is you want bottiger to spend time coding a special mod just for idle and no other server in the farm that after so long of doing nothing strips them of they're buddha...... sounds easier to just leave it be

Buddha mode has already been implemented in another of Skial's servers. Auto-buddha mode. I'm no codewriter but I don't think it'd be too difficult to take a code that already exists and apply it elsewhere. As far as the timer, as I said, that's already been done to cause AFKers to be kicked on other servers, so it's not too much of a stretch to make the same code disable buddha instead of kicking, I figure.

Every suggestion in this subforum requires of Bottiger that some work is done. Bringing up the point that time has to be spent isn't telling anyone anything they don't already know.

It'd be easier to just stop being owner of Skial and troll, but that's not exactly productive.
 
those 2 mods are entirely different and seperate sets of code. meaning he would have to combine them and hope to god it doesnt take a shit on the server..... i may not be the owner of skial but i do know a thing or 2 about code

Again, there's no point in complaining about the amount of work being done when we're on the suggestions sub-forum. I don't know Bottiger personally, but look at all the coding he's already done. I don't think anyone who does this much could find coding to be torture. People can deal with servers being unavailable for a short time.
 
To be honest. Idles make it boring. I at least want to shoot people.. .It's kind of like make them go insane.by shooting them. As for spawn campers. I do guess we can get someone to modify the map so the spawn is a safezone also to prevent spawn campers, but they are easy to bypass hint hint *points at idle way*
