HL2.EXE has stopped working

ever since today it happens every couple hours, thought they fixed this BS months ago, anyone else getting it?

could have sworn they fixed it like 3 or 4 patches ago though :(
also it didnt start until today (aside from back when everyone was getting it every few minutes)

Valve has released new "Update" today (or yesterday). That's why it's happening to you. Wait for new update from Steam soon.

You should defrag your files, that may stop it for a little while

I notice I've been getting this about 90% more frequently if I have Chrome open. Although I might get it every few days. I've seen on the HLDS mailing list people complaining about constant crashes from the last update, so it's probably something to do with the "performance improvements" they made to the source engine.

Also, mac discussion is off-topic

I've been having these, too. But in gmod, everytime I load a server its Hl2.exe has stopped working..
