That sounds like a derogatory term..I don't really agree with that. A lot of people with disorders like Asperger's and ADD are actually very intelligent but they often get abused as kids and therefore never realize their full potential because they are emotionally strapped.

Asperger's isn't a result of abuse. It's a legitimate psychological condition that's in line with autism spectrum (sometimes referred to as "high functioning autism"). One of the biggest signs of Asperger's is poor social abilities. Typically aspies (fuck you, it's a colloquial term) have trouble making friends (as evidenced in this thread), display poor choices of words, and often times say things that indicate a general disinterest for the feelings of other people.

I mean, I'm no shrink. Psychological disorders are just a fascination of mine. But unless this guy's just a really bad troll, then he should probably try considering some therapy.

Well I'm not saying it's a result of abuse. I'm saying that they end up being abused (and bullied) because of their "differences." And relax with language, you're an adult are you not? I have never heard that term used colloquially.

I'm no expert either but last I checked HFA and Asperger's are two different things, albeit with overlap.
