“Catcher in the Rye”
That book is the single worst and most outrageous book I ever read. I had to read it in highschool as a part of the class I was in. Throughout the whole book the main character, Holden for whatever reason in like 80% of his sentences have “Goddamn” in them. Really stupid character doing stupid things. I can’t believe that John Lennon was murdered by a guy who wanted to emulate the main character in the book, Holden Caulfield.
Literally gives me nausea just thinking of it, I had to read it obviously cause of school or I’d fail the class. Genuinely made me depressed just reading it, Holden always talks about how people are “phoney” throughout the book. Hell, there’s an actual scene in the book where he meets a prostitute (Holden is 17 in the book) and she takes her clothes off in front of him. Thankfully Holden refuses and nothing sexual between them happens, although the prostitues pimp beats up Holden cause Holden didn’t give the prostitue money. Seriously disgusting that that’s even in the book, honestly disturbing too. Please do not read this book. And no, I’m not joking or anything at all with this post, I genuinely hate this book
