I trade stuff all of the time and don't really care what it's worth. If I had that Rocket Launcher I would've traded it for the Candy Cane or some other Scout item because I don't play Soldier. I've also been given multiple strange items without the person letting me give anything in return. I was unaware we couldn't trade without looking up the worth of something.
I personally think of it as common courtesy to tell the person there items value. If you wanted a candy cane/scout item, that's great, but if you traded that rocket launcher for 5 buds you could get more scout stuff.
I've seen it been marked as a caution if you want proof I can find some people with the tag on them.Sharking doesn't get you a caution tag. It's just a douche move.
Go ahead.I've seen it been marked as a caution if you want proof I can find some people with the tag on them.
I was really sure they did mark for sharking I remember some rich trader sharking a Burning Hat With No Name and I saw him tagged with a caution, I guess I was wrong. They don't tag caution to sharkers, seriously?Go ahead.

Most new players don't even know how to check the value of the hat and do not know the value of the items their receiving, well since their new.Why would they? The buyer has hundreds of chances to check the value, if he doesn't then that is his fault.
Then it's the new players fault for going into something new without any knowledge what they are doing let alone prices. Most new players don't even know how to check the value of the hat and do not know the value of the items their receiving, well since their new.
Doesn't stop me from seeing you as a prick for doing so in the first place. It should be obvious that ripping someone off at such a high value is a dick move, even with the other guy also being at fault.i returned the item back to him a few days ago so it's alrighht
When I was new to tf2 I didn't go into trade right away because I didn't know how to price check things. Then again why would anyone go into a market without knowing the values of the items in that market? It's not an issue of experinced players being mean. It's an issue of new players not having enough common sense to realize they have no idea what they're doing. IMO it should be set up so you shouldn't even be allowed to trade until you've spent a certain amount of time playing tf2, that way you can have at least a basic sense of item value. Most new players don't even know how to check the value of the hat and do not know the value of the items their receiving, well since their new.
Well I agree with your points there but you need to remember, kids play this game or just not very smart people they will do the trades anyway because the person is simply lying to them and saying "This is a good trade" the kid or whoever may ask twice to make sure but that kid will think the rich trader is some guy to be respected and he will be honest since he has traded with so many people to get his hats so when the rich trader reassures him it's a good trade the kid will bite and GG that kid has just lost 1000000$ for 1 penny. When I was new to tf2 I didn't go into trade right away because I didn't know how to price check things. I'm not trying to advocate sharking in any way. I'm just bringing to light that while there's all there's all this action being brought against sharkers, there is not enough action being taken against handling potential shark victims. If we as a community know there are people who pose as a liability as naive shark victims, then we should be placing restrictions on those people (i.e. people new to TF2) so they don't hurt themselves or the trade community by exposing themselves to an unfamiliar environment, making mistakes, and then blaming the community for something that is partially their responsibility to begin with. But I guess you're right about your statement how it shouldn't be a taggable offence. But I still think it's a dick move to do.
