Is banning Pirate for 1 week the correct choice?

They were just recently banned for 1 week for griefing on platforms. While the number of violations calls for higher discipline, should it be less?
Here are the videos of him violating. There was no communication whatsoever about what they were doing is against the rules.
When there is no communication, they will return to doing the same thing, just like their previous disciplines.
I will put it in spoilers to save space.


They moved to Panda, with the evidence provided below. There is no clarity about who else is on the server that were also heavily banned.

Will Leadership prevent this turnover or continue the practice of harsher punishments that could result in the end of DR for Skial? @Bottiger


If DR didn't have an end-date of 4-5 months at its ongoing declining rate, I couldn't care because something is being done right.
I can provide proof from Parasoul's findings on the shrinking playtime week-by-week basis if needed.
I love having fun with the community here, and I wouldn't want it to end at all.

I've only just recently returned to deathrun, but I must say that I'm pretty disappointed at its current state. Great maps being removed because they have a bit of a learning curve, general behavior from certain mods (Kalashnikov, for example, needing to be pushed by me and some others to ban a literal groomer). It just seems like skial is destroying itself. Sadly, I have the feeling this will be met with less than positive reception from the mod team. I have had people do that same thing to me and others on weedfortress, and I've always laughed at it because it's funny. It is against the rules, and I do honestly think pirate should receive a bit of punishment, but winnie's not wrong with any of this.

I've had it happen to me, and I laugh at it.
Never made a report about it because I know they are just having fun and most of the time, they don't do it the next round. But if they do then I will speak up about it before I retaliate in nature. But can't be said for all.
Perhaps I am just aware of taking responsibility and knowing that if they made it across the platforms first before I did, then that's my loss.

Not really great in adminstrating (leading) if your discipline was not effective, leading them to repeat.
Please right this wrong and revert it to a day for a fair chance of Pirate learning.

I’ve been banned before for other things, but they never really bothered me — except for this ban.
Getting banned for a whole week feels way too harsh.
Also, the second clip they showed of me “griefing” was actually a FREE RUN.
If the Skial server is that strict with punishments, it becomes kind of boring, and in the end, players just look for another server to play on, like PANDA.

Yeah. Especially when certain rules are just outright ignored by mods for other players.
 
I do agree the ban length is excessive. Why did they jump from 1 day straight to 1 week? That doesn't make sense.

Problem here is probably just Sakiko. The last I heard of them was when they tried perma-muting Soul over being in a "harassment group" against a certain someone, along with a couple other people being muted, if I'm not mistaken. There was no proof of him being in such a group, yet he was permanently muted... over basically nothing, no warnings, no evidence. So I'm not surprised to see their name show up here.

Not to say Sakiko is the only admin that doesn't handle reports well. Cough. But they are one of the problems.

Not Really surprised, I knew this was going to happen due to the recent decisions made in Skial to this day. Espically with constant great map removals such as Neonoir, the respawn coins getting fucked by people, bad maps hated by the community, Hale HP nerf

The Deathrun Server really does need a rework and maybe look at other server stats on what maps are popular on other servers when adding them to skial such as Neonoir,Scooby Dooby Doo, Black Mesa,ETC

Should admins be required to submit a report before taking matters into their own hands like this?
It's giving vibes I don't wish to speak, but dang it, what can I say? Unfair use of administrative tools?

Really saddening to hear also that @Soul_82 was permanently muted for a conspiracy, if this is the correct person.
I wonder if this could also have been a factor that resulted in the EU falling out.
I was not a part of any group in there to have fun until the entire congregation that seeds EU no longer choose to do so anymore.

Tooo be fair, you have to create a balance of slop and hard maps to cater. Can't have all in one of either side of the scale.
Maps are not the problem though. EU would be alive and kicking if it was reflecting off US.

Wait I didn't know about no groomer. Is there any thread on that or is it DM with the admin?

Because certain mods think certain rules should only apply to certain people. At least that's the vibe I've gotten since returning. Or some rules are just flat out ignored

It wasn't just nonsense. The mod argued against extraterritorial jurisdiction (ie “it didn’t happen on our server” type argument) which is literally a pedophile argument. I would be fine with him making that argument about anything else but he made a pro-pedophile argument on pedophile accusations. And he did that to move the goal post. I talk a lotta shit about different mods (mostly for my own entertainment) and how I don’t like how they handle different types of reports for whatever technical argument. This is the first one I read and felt sick because I defend k with his strict adherence to the rules.

Ive seen 18 U.SC 2432 cases where legal aid made these exact arguments on appeal. It’s indefensible.

But

Im proud of how the community with members like @Atomicbunny567 @geddan @muffinman80 @BryceM didn’t give up the fight. It makes me proud to be here and hopeful for the future of the server.

Also

I don’t have freedom of association as someone who is less than a year away from moral and character fitness on the CA bar. So I cannot defend K anymore. The risk is too much.

Them going to Panda to continue griefing is not helping them when they come back to do the same thing.
You're not giving them a chance to learn.

1: Lovely behavior from a mod. Love to see maturity on the team. 2: My issue is that the rules aren't applied equally. I hate to go back to ellis, but ellis has made several false reports, and instead of having a nice talk to him about why he should be more careful with reports, you downvoted me when I simply told you, a skial admin, that false reports are against skial rules. I don't think you get to call other people "fucking losers" when you can't even apply the rules fairly.

Metz is a professional troll. Which while adjacent to a Skial admin it is not the same thing.
