Soldier has been largely untouched with rebalances and it has some massive problems with ammo economy, especially in VSH.
In FF2 the beggars and airstrike were given +100% ammo capacity buffs (Total of 40 rockets a piece) to help with their extremely ammo-hungry playstyles. In VSH they get an optional 50% ammo capacity buff which when equipped hinders them from using their actual in-game mechanics properly whatsoever.
Beggars has overload jumps, but those aren't exactly necessary due to beggars carrying stun-on-hit rockets.
The airstrike REQUIRES soldier to rocket jump in order to trigger it's 65% firerate buff and is able to hyper-pogo if used properly.
BOTH OF THESE MECHANICS VIRTUALLY **REQUIRE** THE USE OF GUNBOATS TO AVOID INSTANTEOUSLY DYING OF BLAST AND/OR FALL DAMAGE IN VSH.

The airstrike is basically useless in VSH because it can't have the 2 buffs which make it actually useful and fun to play at the same time, whereas the FF2 edition is able to.
1. Ammo capacity (In VSH the airstrike can out of ammunition in an instant and replenishes ammunition from small ammo packs agonizingly slowly, total of 4 rockets per pack)
2. Blast and fall damage reductions. (You die basically instantly if you do not have this)

Added buffs:
+100% ammo capacity
+20% base firerate which stacks with mid-air buff to help it's lacking DPS and allow it to hyperpogo just a little easier with the gunboats.

You have dispenser which restocks rockets faster, leave the ammo box to engineers.

Its DPS is the highest because of its fire rate once you're in the air, any competent soldier will know med pack locations to overcome this downside.

Remove the mantreads tbh.

i have, not once, in the span of the last week or so's worth of playing on VSH, ever seen someone use the treads. it's either gunboats, concheror, or battalion's backup. the mantreads that bad now. and banning it would also mean no more guntreads/manboats.
