I think 15 minutes or Seren's solution might be reasonable, but we really have to be careful here. The last suggestion for turbine halved its player count

https://stats.skial.com/#server/123

I do think the scrambles are annoying, but it is absolutely zero fun playing on a bad team, And stacks really have been a problem lately.

Its not that fun playing against someone on a 50 killstreak, and I am sick of counter stacking ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I also think that scrambles are being done to Troll Grigs, which isnt right, but does serve as a signal to how alot of people feel about the stacks. Unfortunately due to !swap, the stack simply reforms in a few minutes. And the servers response to this is to scramble, which is in many ways reasonable

We need team stacking / scramble reforms for 2fort 64 US1!!

It's so boring, even on the winning team, I just switch to the losing team, since I can have more action, rather than sit outside of a door and spam rockets at nothing continuously until some unlucky soul steps out for a quarter of a second, then is immediatly blown up by the other 3 people spamming rockets and grenades at the same entrance/door.

It has been a huge issue since a while in 2fort servers. It really doesn't change much other than annoying people and making them leave the server. My motivation to play the game is getting killstreaks and having fun with friends. And people mostly scramble to ruin killstreaks and annoy other players, i rarely see it being useful.

Someone suggested a cooldown for swapping, i think that's a terrible idea. It shouldn't be treated like a crime just to want to play on the same team as your friends.

Moreover, whenever i check the person who initiated the vote, it's always one of those trolls who joins the server just to troll instead of playing the game. As a result, this sparks arguments between regulars and these people and makes the game totally unfun. I've even witnessed an admin getting affected by it. Just a few days ago, the moment they saw the admin, they started spamming votes just to annoy the admin.

Sometimes the moment a team takes the sewers, the opposite team immediately tries to scramble instead of fighting to get it back. 2fort is all about sewer wars and i remember it was much more fun and challenging a few years ago when vote scramble wasn't an issue and I'm sure most of the regulars would agree on this.

My suggestion is that even if we can’t get rid of it completely, not only should the cooldown be longer, but the number of votes required to pass should also be increased so that it only goes through if the majority agrees.

From what i have seen its normaly the same person calling for the scramble multiple times in a row. I do agree having the scramble and having a longer cool down period. It is more fun playing on a team with your friends vs against them. But it also helps to change things up.

This will likely kill the server. This will result in multiple Kritz + battalions soldiers on one team vs a team with no medics. This already happens somewhat frequently. When @eeymontt and I play with Vicious and Freddie on the same team we crush everytime.

Vote scrambling has been an issue for a long time, we've all seen it be abused over and over.
It will never go away, but I think it can be improved upon. I'm pro 15 minute cooldown after a vote is called, and 30 minute after a passing vote. I think maybe even imposing a limit of how many times a user can call for a scramble over a 24 hour time frame could be useful.

As previously stated when there are long attacks/defenses, the tides always eventually turn and the defenders become the attackers or vice versa.
On CTF maps, especially 64 player maps there is no real goal, no one really cares about capping. We're just here to battle. Scrambling makes more sense on traditional servers, not Skial imo.

This is not the case on the eu server. There is almost never multiple kritz + battalion combos. And eu server is dying because of non stop scrambles happening. It's cancer in the evenings because of the troll groups scrambling in turns, absolutety unplayable. And eu regulars like myself are moving to us1 because of this. Now us1 has started to suffer from the same issue.

I can confirm this.

I remember one of the last times I was there. There were seven scramble votes in a row. Seven. Imagine that. And it was often the case when I still went there, over a year ago.

Unbearable. So I went elsewhere for some peace and quiet. Because there was no real action being taken.

And I know most of the "trolls" who are supposed to be there. People never change until they're punished. And even then, it's not guaranteed. So setting limits and implementing change is essential.

Given the EU situation, I would even suggest having one or two impartial admins present regularly, specifically to calm down the "trolls" in question. This would be justified and deserved to enforce the rules.

EU 2fort is my primary server, I try to be there as often as I can and have cancelled many a vote scramble I felt was either unnecessary or a troll vote. Unfortunately my 8 week old son has changed my availability :'(
First, grats for your son! That's always good news, haha.
Second, at least you're trying. As long as you remain fair and impartial, there's no problem.

I was a community admin a long time ago, so I understand.

But yes, it might be wise, especially considering your personal life, to have the support of someone who is impartial and who would do what you're already doing.

Thank you, both!

I certainly do my best. But certainly no action is ever done out of spite or against anyone in particular. I'd like to think I am as impartial as I can be!
That's the most important thing.

Personally, I was like that, but the staff I was part of were too "buddy-buddy" and criticized me for being too strict about the rules. But rules exist for a reason, friends or not.

I got fed up with their mentality and I simply left.

Back to the main topic.

In any case, do what you can, given your personal life, and I hope a change will be made to the voting system.

I just want to state, that player counts are not dropping because of scrambles or even stacks persay, they are dropping because valve hasnt put in enough effort lately. if they put more effort in things will get better.

Swap has already been disabled for 1 minute after a scramble. This has been in for a month now.
If you could implement a cooldown on votescrambles. Even 15 minutes it would be a massive game changer and would solve the multiple vote abuse reports and make everyone happy.
