I am not sure if this is the right section of the forum to vent my frustration toward the voting system abuse.

I mostly play skial FF2 server, and I always come across some or the other player who would start a vote for no good reason, either cuz they were killed soon during the game or for fun. Whatever the reason is, most of the voting would occur for no genuine reason and others blindly votes 'yes'. I have reported a couple of players but its not enough.

I feel the voting system is not used in the right way it has to. Its been abused more frequently, especially in the FF2 server.

I am not sure what the alternative is, but if its been abused regularly then it is not serving its intended purpose. I would really appreciate if any alternative can be found.

The vote system isn't perfect, but the downsides are worth it. Vote abuse does happen but completely taking away the ability for players to ban real hackers or griefers or to silence spammers would be a lot more detrimental than any vote abuse, at least in my opinion.

If you see someone voteabusing we can and will do something about it if you report the player with the proper information here on the forums or contact a admin through steam.

Vote abuse can be hard for us to prove so we highly prefer demos of what happened before and leading up to when they called the vote.

Before I was admin I usually did one of two things:
- Started recording a demo when someone repeatedly vote abused in case they did it again
- Bound 1 key to start recording a demo, bound another key to stop recording and recorded round long demos this way. Pressed the stop key at the end of the round, pressed the record key at the begining of the next. This way in case people started vote abusing or what have you I had proof I could just send an admin

If you have a Nvidia video card that supports it, you can also use Nvidia Shadowplay. Set it to record the last 5 or so minutes of gameplay and when someone vote abuses, press the save key and you got instant proof
