Hello,

since your servers are marked as "EU", i understand that they are multi-national servers. Servers like these have (in most cases) some kind of language restriction, English, to be more specific.

I did not found anything related to language in your server rules, what is your policy about this?

I just came from your Hightower server, where had to be some kind of Hungarian invasion or something, because there was like 10+ of them and everyone was babbleing something, using both text and voice chat, in their native language ofc. Which is REALLY annoying, and (in my eyes) can be considered as spamming.

Dont get me wrong, i dont have anything against other nations, languages, or talking during gameplay. But i think that if closed group of people want to have (private) conversation in their own language, then they should use private solutions like Ventrilo, TeamSpeak, etc... Otherwise they are just disrupting the rest of a server or can even make people to leave (my case).

Conclusion: It would be great if you could be more specific about the ways of using text / voice chat, and also about allowed language.

Thanks for your opinions. : )

We do not have a language restriction in place. As long as they were using it to communicate normally it wouldnt be micspam. I know it may be hard to tell since they are speaking something else but its best just to client mute them.

Thanks for a fast reply.

And thats exactly the thing: How do you determine if they are spamming or not? What is considered as "normal communication"? Is it when 5-6 people constantly talking and texting, and not focusing on gameplay?

Also it basically means that i can be mean and offensive in my language, because nobody would understand that.

If i get it right, the proper solution is that rest of the server (majority) needs to mess with TF2 / Steam voice settings because of a few other people (minority) wants to have chitchat.

Seems little discriminating to me, but whatever...

We arent going to ban people for speaking a different language. We have admins that are from the EU that can speak multiple languages if issues arise.

I certainly dont want to ban those people. I was just pointing out to the fact that language restriction solves problems like these, without even need for admins intervention.

I am visiting your servers because of playing games, not listening to 10 Hungarians who are using TF2 as Skype. Maybe i just have too high standards.

Seems like i am out of arguments here, so... Thanks for your time.

You can client mute them yourself so you won't personally hear them. Look at these instructions to find out how to do so.

If the players are spamming (noticable by hearing repeating words, melodies, ...) you can do one of these to establish contact with an admin and ask for help.

Make use of your client side mute, I use it a lot and it makes TF2 a much better place.

Other then that they're players just like you and me who want to play the game and have fun. They probably mute the English speakers when they join too.
