It can get really annoying, especially when applied to a scout. Why not remove/fix the ones that are broken?

I've already suggested it, I don't know why they weren't removed. Don't know how to fix them, or why they're even visible though walls.

it might have to do with the fact that the Idle map doesn't have areaportals set up (since they can't easily be set up properly on Idle) which are designed to prevent objects on the other sides of walls from being rendered by a client's videocard.
of course, that's only if the trails plugin takes areaportals into account when determining the visibility of the trails

EDIT: forgot that the plugin is active on vanilla servers and has the same problems
 
I don't think people care that much about the trails being seen through the walls, since it's on idle/trade/etc
Additional trails would be nice though, we've only had the same couple of ones since it got activated
