So does anyone have proof of the Genuine Glengarry and Brigade Helm, or was that a bunch of BS?

No, it's pretty much confirmed, the official TF2 wiki says it, and it's been confirmed on SPUF. The thing is that only 20000 of each are going to exist, and they come with the action figure which hasn't been sent to everyone (including me) so that's why there aren't loads of pictures everywhere.

annnnnnnd THAT is why i dont spend 35 bucks on an action figure of a somewhat unknown video game (by that i mean its not known outside of the gaming community). the sad thing is, is if it was something like CoD the figures would have been better
