Unpopular opinion: Skial Hightower servers feel like home (nostalgic anecdotes incoming).
2014-2016, I'd play on the computer in the basement (before it stopped working), along with Garry's Mod (damn I miss those saves) and Minecraft (damn I miss that world) and practicing Rush basslines. I would usually play Scout or Engie, and for some reason I'd always prefer playing for RED (even though the map is fucking symmetrical).
I think it was at this time that I got so many sniper kills while playing scout (jumping up to the sniper balcony as fast as I could). I don't know why my skill has dropped since then! Anyway, I'd also have the *greatest* time teaming up with the other engies at various locations in RED's base.
I say "skill" but I was very amateur, my playing was sloppy, I died many many times, but I had the time of my life!
Also, I acknowledge that Hightower isn't the best map, but I still love it because you're able to see most of the action (besides the tower being in the way, duh), and it feels like a real party when there are lots of people on the server. And does anyone else love that feeling when you start to get used to everyone's Steam names on there and start kinda recognizing the people you kill/get killed by? Idk, I just love being nostalgic about TF2 (I'm generally a very nostalgic person).
P.S. Does ANYONE know some dude who goes/went by the Steam name "Big Damage"? There was this guy Big Damage who always spoke in the third person like "BIG DAMAGE DOMINATES" or "BIG DAMAGE GOT KILLED" or some shit like that I don't even remember. Idk, I hope someone knows/IS Big Damage because it was some of the funniest stuff I've ever heard on voicechat.
