yeah guys.. for some reason.. TF2 didn't come up as one of my running programs when I ctrl alt deleted for task manager.. just steam so its not like I could close it yet it still says Im playing tf2.. this is odd.

TF2 will not show as a running process. When you are running any source games ( like TF2, CS, Portal, etc) you will have a process named "hl2.exe". Now, when you close your game, usually this process will shut down too.
As people has been saying you have search for, and manually shut down "gameoverlayUI.exe". Or, "conime.exe", as I did myself as I didn't have "gameovelayUI.exe" process listed.
Now you check your steam status says "Online" not "in game".
