NOTE: This thread isn't about how poorly-received or just generally meh (my FPS are terrible...) the new Trade NY map is.

It IS about the mapping issues players can exploit. This one was brought to my attention by Jessica (The 13 Year Old Girl)

What about the one before the previous one before the previous one before the previous one (the one before the the one before minecraft I think)? That one was pretty cool. The one with the palm trees and stuff.

EDIT: The rawr one. That one was simple but cool.
 
I know there a few lighting issues too, I can easily fix that part though. I have basically fixed all the issues now. But thanks for pointing that one out.
Apart from that though are there any other issues you have witnessed?
 
new portals work, and that spycrabbing room is a nice touch (lol da nuke and i miss my pink and black button in pyro's house. :( )

lava can't kill me in obby?

health/ammo box does not work in spycrabbing room.

also this torch in red spawn seems to be having a texture issue:

You were able to do the teleporter trap on the previous trade map. That isn't an issue with the map itself. This can be done on almost any map with portals to other areas.
 
Also, people can't rocket jump when they're in the grass area for the arena. The area with the satellite. The ground swallows the rockets.
 
ya, it seems that half of the grass in that area let rockets and bullets go right through it.

yet strangely not arrows.

Arrows and rockets behave differently so that's probably why one type of weapon goes through the floor while another type doesn't. Overall, the map is fine. The previous map was getting hate when it was first changed and the same thing is happening now. Yet people loved the map later on. So how about we leave the map for now?
 
The rocket issue can be fixed easily, the terrain needs to be lowered to a power of 3 or 2 terrain type, since some source games (Like tf2) struggle to support power of 4 terrain. And I can fix the obby too.

Should I make it longer or just reduce the times the nuke can be used?
 
I think the nuke should be harder to get to. But for now, make the cooldown for as long as possible.
 
I am currently fixing the terrain and removing the nuke, adding a special area at the end instead. (The nuke didn't work anyway)
 
Sorry for an update so soon @Bottiger, I won't need to update it for a while from now, but the nuke thing was just not going as planned and just was plain annoying. instead the obby leads to a disco which was suggested by most users on the server who liked the idea of a place to get to through obby but just not the annoying nuke.
As said it won't need an update for a while now, as I don't want to bother you too much.

Why is the map 60mb? Can you also give the map a unique name so people don't have to delete the map from their folders to join the server?
 
I thought I had given the map a unique name I do always make sure to change it to a name that hasn't been used yet (trade_minecraft_skial_beta was used, but not without beta at the end). Also the minecraft textures and stuff bump it up to about 32mb, and the music for the disco has added a chunk to the size. Remember if you want me to change anything feel free to ask. But I don't want you to have to change the map constantly.

The map is too big. It shouldn't double in size from a few textures and music. Trade_minecraft_skial is already used.
