A couple years ago, the map on Trade|NY was changed to the current version made by Cream Tea. Since the map was finalized, there have been several issues that went ignored by Cream Tea. It's to the point where most of us no longer want the map fixed, we all agree that a new map or a change back to the previous map featuring a gondola and ice lake would benefit the server far more.
Being a trade server, an emphasis on the ability to understand people speaking in voice chat exists. However, when users use the Meet the Medic taunt inside the plaza fountain, a server-wide sound effect is played that can not be muted or ran away from. Users know this exploit and stand in the fountain together, making it impossible to hear people in voice chat. The map also features an obstacle course that isn't even remotely challenging, and upon completion, plays extremely loud server-wide music for a few minutes which again makes it impossible to hear people using voice chat. The obstacle course resets every half-hour, and the unnecessary music becomes borderline constant.
There are also issues with the spycrab room and boxing ring, where any player can open the doors from outside the rooms using splash damage or taunts. Scouts can also throw a Flying Guillotine through the windows in these rooms, interrupting boxing matches and spycrabs.
The current map was interesting for a while, but with the combination of the numerous unfixed issues and the staleness of having an unchanged map for so long, it's time for a new map or a return of the previous map.
