The Rules: votemenu

Hi,

There was a slay-vote earlier on VSH for no real reason. The person who did that had a point: there is no rule about the use of it. But since a vote for slaying just because you are bored or you want to end it or someone is capping the point (which is allowed but some don't like that), there was no point to do something against that person.

Is there a chance it can be added that you can't just start a vote against people without a good reason?

I actually just go to vsh maps with the sole intention of capping the point.
Oh you wana vote slay/vote kick me? Mk, lemme file that vote abuse report.

Wouldn't hurt to better define vote abuse, vote abuse really doesn't appear to be mentioned in the rules, same for report abuse. (Though report abuse is covered in the chat scroller)
 
I always ask why they called the vote using the /msay command so I know they see it. If i get no response within the next 3 minutes, I do a one day ban for voteabuse.
 
Is there a way to make a prompt before starting a vote?

Example:
"/votemenu"
*VOTE ABUSE IS A BANNABLE OFFENSE*
1. Proceed 2. Nevermind

Then they can either go ahead and start a vote or opt out because they now know that starting a bullshit vote could get them banned.

Well, some people might not be aware as to what is construed as votemenu abuse. So, maybe you could put in like a list of what is and what isn't when that opt out screen appears.
But, a downside is that it would take up more space, and as you said, you might not be able to make a prompt in the first place

If you are abusing the votemenu then you know it.

Well, in my experience, I've called a lot of votemutes for no reason when I was new and before I came to the forums. Then I learned that it was illegal, bad, and frowned upon. Long story short, really new people who haven't played the game might not be acquainted with it and people might come from different servers that have different rules regarding it.
But, that's just my opinion

A simple prompt is all that's needed to drastically cut down on vote abuse not an essay on the rights and wrongs of possible inappropriate votes.
