Imagine if TF2 had an update where the guillotine would become a melee weapon or a secondary weapon that you could right click to throw and it'd have a hacking animation, bleeding would apply in both cases. How fun that would be with the Mad Milk.

Possible ideas:
+ Bleeding applied when hacking or thrown
+ --% damage
- --% range
- --% recharge time

So you want something to replace the Wrap Assassin and Boston Basher without the downsides of either?
 
If ya throw it, ya basically have no melee weapon, I think that's bad enough.

You... do realize that that's essentially how it works for the wrap assassin, right? It does 11 damage per swing. That's terrible, and the only circumstance where you should ever try to get a kill with 11 damage is when you are completely out of ammo and can't get away (and that's almost impossible as a Scout). And then you could just not throw it and have a Boston Basher with no downsides. And aside from that, you really should not be meleeing people as a Scout anyway. There are very rare circumstances where using a melee is a good idea, and even fewer when you're a Scout. This is why the Wrap Assassin and the Atomizer are considered to have, essentially, no downsides. It's so much better to reload a single shot in whatever scattergun you're using (or reload the clip on your pistol, if you have one) and then fire than it is to go for a melee kill.

Slap some more downsides on to it then, the title says "Possible Ideas" not "Only these ideas and no others".
