The number prefix

Yo, when somebody has an item, and it has a number prefix, like #1234 The Manmelter, what does that mean? What's the difference between a number prefix and no number prefix?

Number 'prefix'es means craft #

Manmelter #1234 would be the 1234th crafted manmelter (it would show up as Manmelter though, because craft numbers in game only go to 100)

It's not that they go to 100, its that craft numbers over 100 don't show up in game.
