2 years ago today, I was given the right to administrate the servers. I know I'm not the best admin, I had my fair share of abuse stories or mia sessions but this place truly is the bread and butter of my TF2 experience. Always will be my goto should I ever want to relax and hangout with some nerds. I kind of snagged this idea from T-Wayne after I saw his post, creds to him. I didn't disclose the items I gave to @Blade D_Hero cause I was going to do it here, it was 25 keys. It was going to be a Planets Stout Shako but we weren't too lucky with that. However, I don't want people to feel left out, not everyone 24/7's the forums like that nerd.

That being said, I want to do another giveaway, more like a "Thank You" to Skial for putting up with me and keeping me on the team for all these years. I've done 3 questionnaires thus far, one about Nintendo, one about TF2 and one about, ofc, Skial. I've yet to brainstorm what kind of contest, it may just be an extension but here's the catch. Questions will be asked, 30 specifically, I'll try to do them daily but I may slip or things may come up. Anyone who gets a question right, gets a key. That means I'll be coughing up 30 keys. I'll update this post once the contest begins and when it will start. I understand if you do not wish to participate or don't like the idea but please don't discourage the contest or any participants, I want to thank you guys for the time you've given me and the time ahead. It'd be a shame if it was ruined.

Regardless of the case, just a final thank you for the memories. ~SargentY =)

After consideration, I believe a poll might be the best method for determining how I should deliver the keys, I'll see how it goes =)

Preferably a method that doesn't use first-reply, otherwise it just works from whoever is on the forum the most.

I don't see a problem with that
I do, because people who no-life the forum would reap all the rewards. Some people have things to do.

I'd say to do either of the following;

Consistently ask questions at the exact same time every day so people can plan to check the forum

OR

Ask a broader question at the beginning of every day and then pick out your favorite answer at night from a pool of all the answers, but don't let people tie - use time replied as the tiebreaker.

I like this idea a lot.

I like this - have questions which aren't facts perhaps, things that can't just be Googled?
However you could follow the below steps - should resolve some of the issues with the current method.
  1. Choose a "period" of time to run a series of questions (length of period based on interval)
  2. Choose an "interval" between questions (every day or every other day or every Monday etc.)
  3. Always post the question at roughly the same time (1 hour either way perhaps)
  4. Everyone on the forum has 24 hours to answer the question
  5. Anyone who answers correctly gets a point*, no reward yet
  6. At the end of the "period", give a reward to the person with the most points
  7. After giving the reward, reset the points that everyone has.
This would make each competition longer than a single question, but shorter than the current one.

*If you wanted to keep part of the first-to-answer method, you could use something like:
  • First person to answer correctly = 10 or 5 points*
  • Second person to answer correctly = 9 or 4 points
  • Third person to answer correctly = 8 or 3 points
  • etc... until 1 point.
**Just reduce this number to control the scale of the number of people

That is a proposal I wouldn't mind complying to.

This is far too complex, I don't think it'd need this.

After thinking about it, I might host weekly 5 key giveaways on here, starting this Friday leading up to Scream Fortress 2016:
https://www.reddit.com/r/RandomActsOfTf2/

(I also kind of want that medal hee hee)

What do you guys think?

EDIT: Since I haven't received any ideas or insights, I'll be going with this.
