Items worth less then 250c will not effect your max trade.

I wouldn't deal with that site after all the scrutiny. Guy wrote that Valve is partnering with him to stop the laundering.

I feel bad for all the poor bastards still waiting in the que to sell and buy items, I wouldn't be surprised of the BPs of those Bots are climbing in price.

I also think they'll be using the steamrep API, which prevents marked scammers from using it.

This was precisely one of the reasons why I didn't make a "TF2WH" when I was making Skial Middleman. I already thought of that idea and didn't want to be associated with the downsides.

By buying people's stuff, you are left holding the bag when there is:
  • A new dupe.
  • A once rare item suddenly flooding the market.
  • Scammers laundering items.
You can either deal with this by printing more credits and deflating everyone's currency, or swallow the loss. Also TF2WH suffered major vulnerabilities in the first few months that allowed people to generate unlimited credits and the entire inventory was emptied out twice.

That, and it was far too easy to game WH's market. I'd buy a stockpile of Strange Knives from other people for 1.00 each, and sell them to WH for 1.11 (credits translated into ref, obviously). I'd do this to the point where the knives were so overpopulated that they'd go down in value, and I'd buy 'em back for 0.88. Then the "demand" goes up, and I sell them back to WH for 1.11 again.

Cycled through this for a few days. Made about 10 keys' worth of a profit by exploiting this. This was before WH got really popular and there were long wait times to get your trades going, so I gave up on it, but I imagine that the same principles probably still apply and you can probably continue doing this if you had the time to devote to it.

I don't think WH uses a dynamic pricing model, though. There's fixed prices set by the moderators, no matter the stock amount.
Additionally, there's a stock limit of 50 for almost all items. There is opportunity for arbitrage on TF2WH, but it isn't quite as simple as what you describe.

There's nothing wrong with people making money on a system like that.

The problem is that something like TF2WH isn't sustainable. Either you or the users will have to shoulder the risk. If you print more credits, people are going to be mad. If you start charging for credits, Valve will come shut you down when Mann Co store profits massively drop.

The people behind TF2WH is an actual company. They will pull the plug if it is not profitable enough for them.
