Help Me! TF2 Black Screen Bug

Righto, seems I cant log onto TF2 suddenly.

When I enter the game, I instantly go to a black screen and am forced to exit as the window doesnt respond. I asked a mate on steam and he said it might be my CPU (which, after checking, it turns out every time I enter TF2 my CPU goes from around 50% to 80-100%)

Anything I can do to fix it?

First time I did it it stopped at 100% and did nothing (that mean its good or...) running it another time quick.

So when it hits 100% finished and stalls its not done?

What are your launch options for TF2?

Also, update video drivers and DirectX.

Don't use DirectX 8.0, despite what Ruelel will say.

Yes, it's still verifying, when it sits at 100% wait a little longer, then it'll say either it's done verifying or it'll say that it failed to verify # of files and redownload them.

Erm, it wasnt at complete "idle". I had a few IE windows up and a steam chat when looking.

Plus I think this is more then just my steam. Some of the websites I normally visit have started freezing on this specific computer.

Whatever the issue is, I would think its not tf2 related.. using 50% with a few apps open is high to say the least.
Post a screenshot of running processes, it may show the root of your problem, or at least be able to eliminate software as a cause.
