Why should you be unbanned?
Good morning Skial team,

I have been playing on Skial servers for years, since around 2017. Its what me and my father do together. Now I recently moved into an apartment complex with a new service provider. New modem, router, the whole nine yards. I just tried to log onto the Skial servers for the first time in a while, and I was banned.

I checked the reason code and it was:

"LINKED: New STEAMID from banned IP"

Is this due to the switch in internet providers and it being a large apartment complex? What logs can I provide to assist?

You share an IP with an account I banned for a racist weapon name. Please clear the racist name from your weapon on this original account, and you will be unbanned.

And you said it's not an alt, but it's on your friend's list, meaning you either know the person or own the account, so please clear it.

Afternoon - thank you for the quick reply,

I do know the person, they are a student colleague from university.
I will reach out to them and request they remove the name.

I do have a question though, what happens to my account if I can't convince them to remove the slurs?

They agreed to remove the offending names. See photo attached.

They then made their inventory public so you can confirm. See photo attached.

Thanks, you and your friend are cleared to play on the servers again. Please avoid using any offensive names on items in the future. Tell your friend Gamb to also avoid using the Jim Crow frontier justice, I'm letting it slide but some players might not tolerate it.

Appeal Accepted. Have fun on the servers, and please stay out of trouble.

In regards to your question though. I would have to verify the IP is EDU, if that was the case I would have cleared you. Though in most cases, word alone is not enough, it's easy to fake a story, and you'd have to provide solid proof you were on an EDU connection or that your fellow student was not associated with you.

TLDR: If the facts are solid, and the perp was holding you back because of a college connection and you had proof, I would pardon you.
