this is what the post originally said ---> I have no idea about the reason behind the ban as it's all sort of a blur to me, and looking around in my sourceban history made it even more confusing to me, I am positive that i was living with a close friend at the time of the first ban dated "1-23-17" and I can also see that I was unbanned which makes it even weirder, other than that I have literally no information to go off of, I'm not sure if this was a mistake or something else.

You were banned because this account (https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198357435583) was caught advertising hacks on the server.
Your account connected from the same IP address as the person who was advertising hacks, and it was a residential IP address, so it was you or whoever you were living with. You were unbanned because your IP address changed, so the system migrated your ban.

If you agree to never advertise hacks anymore, I will unban your account.

I don't remember doing that myself, but you have my word I'll never do that again.
