Declined TC_Hydro

I made this suggestion in the past but it was declined because its not a quickplay map. Now I play on Skial Valve maps every day and it is always full. The majority of the people are regulars whom have the server on their favorites & keep the server full. I doubt very few people who join the server are quickplay users.

I propose to disable quickplay when the map changes to Hydro and then enable it back on when the map switches. I doubt the server will loose people within that 30 min of gameplay. If anything it will attract more people considering most people have never played on it & also since there are no more good Hydro servers. Most of the regulars on Skial | Valve maps LA miss playing it and it is only a faint memory of one of the greatest tf2 maps. It would be greatly apprectiated if you do add tc_hydro to Skial valve maps. You can even give a week long test run & if it doesn't work out just remove it again.

I support this entirely. Hydro is a very fun map that's extremely unique that Valve is proud of. It allows for a variety of gameplay through its random features while maintaining a great balanced map.
 
Lets make this happen guys!!!

One time all of the plugins went down and the server was around half full. tc_hydro comes up and the server fills up within minutes even with no plugins at all. Then the plugins came back and it was lost forever :ohno:.

The people need their hydro fix.
 
yeah i know there are many mods out there that turn quickplay on and the only time valve maps is empty is during the middle of the day when every one is working and the middle of the night when they are asleep. so i dont see this map being a problem to keep the server full if the players voted for it in the first place
 
+1. We must reach the holy land. It's the only map that respects the games art style.
 
Out of curiosity, if its a Valve map why doesn't Valve allow it in quick play?

But +1, I do like the map
 
Will people actually play this map or is this just like the Mountainlab NY players begging for a server and promising to populate it and then not doing so... or people begging for a UGC map and promising to populate it and not doing so. Sounds like the same kind of thing.

valve maps LA is always populated if its added onto that server just having quickplay disabled while only on the map the server population should stay the same.

Oh I see you just want it in the rotation not a 24/7 server.
 
Anytime the server is on Hydro it will be off quickplay which means no new traffic from that. There seems to be enough demand for it from the regs but like I said we have seen this before. I suppose it's something to try but if the overall server population declines remove it.

+1 for trial.
