Declined suggesting a higher % required for votemenu votes

people spam the votemenu votes often, i suggest you should make it a higher % (i suggest 85%, approximately 10% higher) because votes often succeed even though the victim has done nothing wrong.

an admin said in this thread that "http://www.skial.com/threads/enter-name-here-votemenu-whoring.39034/page-2" that it's nearly impossible for any vote to pass as solace for me getting votemuted for a bogus reason because in the end it had to "say something" about the legitimacy of the votemute.

so my friend decided to test it out, and the first votemute he called out against someone who hasn't said one god damn fucking thing on the server got a votemuted and votegagged with a very convincing 76%, this isn't even votemenu abuse either because it's a one time occurrence which means it's perfectly okay to screw people over, if only in moderation.

so i suggest you make it harder to pass votes, people who are actually spamming or being racist will get what's coming, and people who make random ass votes get no satisfaction out of spamming their votemenu cooldown. less victims, more justice.

If you are having problems like "unfair banning" then there will always be proof that the menu-system is abused and there will always be people who aren't your friend still wanting to back you up.
85% is too high for a mute. It's as close to the percentage for a ban. But thanks for carying about the votemenu-system. (:

it's not about that, it's about the votemenu having votes being too easy, if people can start random votes at random people for zero reason and the votes pass every single time, it's just conclusive that the % needs to be upped. if you want someone muted, you can always use client mute, if someone is spamming or being racist, you can actually get them banned for the server, now it only opens a gateway to lots of potential abuse, abuse that is prominent if you ask me.

na, i made topics about this issue in the past and it was brushed aside with the "it's fine" comment. nothing like a refreshing reminder how the votemenu system isn't optimal.

etc, search for "votemenu" and you get lots of topic about votes and how it could be better.
 
If you have people who like you on the server, or people that have no problem hearing you speak (or reading what you have to say) then they will vote no. If the vote passes, it's always a sign that +75% of the server doesn't care about what you have to say.
 
While I can see where you're coming from (have to deal with pleanty of douches on Harvest) the percent is fine now. Just report when it's a voteban, votespam or wait for them to fuck up and say something bannable like 'nigger' or 'faggot'.

That actually IS votemenu abuse. Calling votes for bogus reasons is voteabuse. I need to silence your friend for vote abuse.
 
Also- I said that this is from my experience on Skial servers. I don't play EU VSH. If people on THAT server have a problem with passing undeserved votes, it is not something that needs to be changed on every Skial server. The percentage works fine most of the time in the servers that I frequent.

EU VSH is filled with kids abusing the vote-menu.. I left there because I was weekly having few players reported (succeed in it too) for vote-abuse.. that server is hopeless from time to time so nothing much to do about it anyways
 
Personally I think if anything it should be lower. But it's pretty much good where it is otherwise. It takes a million votes already

that would mean you'd have to get acquainted with a vast majority of the server for this system to work.

so how come whenever someone else abuses the votemenu, it can't be categorized as abuse because it happened once (it happened several times, but whatever), yet when he does it, it's abuse, even though he did it once to make a statement? did your definition of abuse change in between threads?
