Well I can tell you my input, I can understand what you are saying, completely. I thought the same thing about that, and with the prices of hats, it's pure ridiculousness.
But if you noticed, the crates that have been circulating for quite some time (43, 44, and 45) have been unboxed so many times, that everything found inside them has been found.. and a LOT of them have been found. The reason that the Grenade launcher is worth quite a bit, is because those crates didn't drop as much, they were harder to get, and they've been impossible to get for quite some time now... so hopefully that clarifies it, it's just a matter of how rare something is.
