You can literally go into your Steam settings and enable the filtering of slurs so you don't have to see them.

Why are we continuing to police the chat like the game is for children? If you choose not to use this filter which Valve added five years ago then you have no right to complain.

Okay for the suggestion, but could you tell me what you would accept and what you wouldn’t accept in the chat?

Actual racism shouldn't be allowed but slurs in a non-negative context should be allowed. Obviously anything abhorrent like paedophilia should never be allowed.

As for words like "fag" it was only a few years ago that you could still say it on here and I think that should be allowed again. "laserfag" has already been unofficially allowed but what about calling someone "oldfag" or "newfag"?

Can you give a personal example from your own life of a time when you used the N-word to refer to someone in a supposedly non-negative way like with your friends, family, or teammates?

This is kind of a loaded question because you're assuming that it's being used to refer to a particular individual. Tell me honestly what's wrong with going "sup niggas" or "let's go niggas"? Hard mode: you can't use feelings as a reason.

Even if I was referring to a particular individual is it really a big deal if I call them my nigga? Turn on the slur filter and you won't have to see it.

It does not exist inside a vacuum, Cream Tea. Nigga is tied to a long history of dehumanization, racism, and segregation.

You can pretend it’s “just slang” or a "gamer moment" but that’s like saying graffiti on a gravestone is just “art.”
