Problem solved. Steam friends list doesn't show up

Ok, I thought this problem would be over after I restarted both steam and my computer, however, it is not. Basically, when I open Steam and click friends list, a tab flashes where the Steam logo is and it "says" that friends list has launched. However, I can't view the list at all, as it doesn't allow me to open the list for whatever reason.

If someone could help me fix this, it would be much appreciated, as I can't send messages to people with this issue, unless I'm lucky enough to see their "In-Game" message pop up in the right corner.

You could try deleting clientregistry.blob but this sounds like a different problem.

I was contemplating about totally reinstalling Steam, but I don't want to do that if there is a better way to fix this.

Right after I clicked friends list, the little tab shows up but the list doesn't open.

If I hover over it while it is minimized, the screen shows up, but if I hit maximize or restore nothing happens.

Looks like friends list cam back magically. Steam was trolling hard I guess.
