So, why did YOU become an admin?

this seems to be the reason about 80% of the time when people apply for admin

99% of them don't have any of the 25(?) admins on their friends list to call into their game

100% of them have to be told they can do that

I didn't become and admin because I didn't want responsibility and I would simply use the power to ban anyone who looked at me funny or scored a domination kill on me.

Now stop being Capt. Buzzkill.
 
i don't want to become an admin.

if i was one i would only ban people for using the phlog and the pre-nerfed enforcer
 
This thread is about why people became admin. If you want to badmouth people for how they admin, we have a nice and shiny section for that in unmod. Doing so any further in this thread will get you a warning.

Well I know that, sometimes it's just faster to get on mic and be all "Hey, Hey opposing team? You know why we aren't capping? The guy holding the intel is an engi camped out in our vents and is griefing. Could you go in there and kill him for us? Thanks." Because they'll do it. And then we vote gag him, and he get's frustrated and leaves when the vote gags he calls don't pass.

Besides if there was an admin on saying things occasionally like "Nope, that's greifing." or maybe even "Yeah, racism IS a bannable offense" things would get less sketch with some of the regulars.

I was asked to become an admin by Zebra one day. I don't even think I have an admin application. So far I think I've caused less shitstorms than Ruelel even though I've had the power to for a while. Also, what Roman said earlier. We can never agree on shit and it turns into stupid arguments most people don't see. I'm amazed anything ever gets done honestly.
 
I got admin for my contributions to the Idle map. I haven't encountered many rulebreakers though, so I haven't had many reasons or opportunities to use any admin powers (aside from goofing off on Idle with noclip, but I haven't been there in a while now, as aside from a few term classes, I've been having too much fun on the Texas Death Run server)
