VPS = Virtual Private Server. Instead of renting out a whole server, you rent out a part of it. They're a lot cheaper and more suitable for smaller games like Terraria.Whats the difference between a VPS and a dedicated server?

Yeah I don't want to just jump in yet until I'm 100% sure Terraria will work on a Unix box. There's reports of it running through Mono / wine, but I need to test it myself.I'm willing to chip in or even pay for it completely if we're 100% sure that we'll use it with fair regularity
If it doesn't work with Unix systems, then someone would have to host or I'd have to rent a Windows server, which are always more expensive.
