loay: like any1 would belive me

I think the important question is, if you weren't scamming with my name/avatar, what reason did you have for using it? If it was a joke, what was the joke?

It better be a funny joke.

Well my friend told me that ill never be a good trader nor a middelman so i changed my stuff and was Like I AM NOW and removed them 1 hour latter and now i am pretty good i started game trading and stuff(WITH MY REAL PROFILE) and now with this ban it fucked me up pretty hard with no tf2outpost and the scammer tag on my steamrep which is pretty dumb

I don't think changing your name and avatar to a known trader is a good idea even as a joke. Up to Xel

and your name isnt like TM cant choose look your name is originly a starcraft tower or whatever its called http://starcraft.wikia.com/wiki/Xel'naga

and your profile pic isnt TM ethir its a badly painted heisbenrg guy http://tinyurl.com/9m2y6qf you can see alot of them
Yeah, but the combination together is the identifier and the point is moot because you admitted to doing it to replicate him, even if you didn't have malicious intent, it was still a dumb idea.

i know it was a dumb idea it was a freaking AWFULL idea and i regret that and i realy dont think you should be this crule just for a simple joke atleast like give me a warnning or something not a ban

Up to Xel, but I don't see a reason why it can't be removed. He might still want a caution tag up though, but that's him.

The crux of the matter is that you switched your profile info to that of a rather high-profile trade (not trying to toot my own horn here, but I'm fairly active around these parts), who is also a tagged middleman on SteamRep. Doing this sort of thing not only puts you at risk for getting tagged (as you've learned), but it's also damaging to my own reputation, as my name is being thrown around in scam reports, and the notoriety causes a lot of newer traders to be wary of trading with me, because of the inherent risk.

While yeah, I don't own the name "Xel'Naga" (trademark of Blizzard Entertainment) or the Heisenburg avatar (copyright TMC), and there are several other people who use either the same avatar or the same name (there are a couple other people on Steam who use the name "Xel'Naga" legitimately), the combination of the two implies obvious intent to pose as me.

Now, let's also weigh in the fact that 99% of the people who have copied my names/avatars in the last several months have done so explicitly for the sake of using my reputation as a trustworthy trader as a ploy to lure in scam victims. To date, you are the only exception to this, as it seems that you did this as a joke.

Now, let's also consider the fact that we don't know if you scammed anybody or not. Nobody's reported anything to me, and all we have is your own testimony of the issue. Not a lot to work on, but it leaves a lot to the imagination.

And it's not just the fact that you used MY information, either. Had I caught you using any other well-known trader's information like that, I would've applied the tags just as quickly. Hell, in the last week I've had tags put on around a dozen people using the names/avatars of Skial traders.

I realize how detrimental that can be to your trading career. I know it sucks. But that's why we don't do this sort of thing.

Honestly, I think that, at the very most, we can remove the SCAMMER tag and have it downgraded to CAUTION for a while. Anybody else care to put in their input?

thanks man realy appreciate it also i do like to buy a steam game if you still do that
