Anyway to bypass the fact my SourceOP rep has a whopping 2 rep and was shoved in the "Invalid" pile?

I've always though my Skial rep at least would be a help, but it seems when I go to buy keys anymore, I'm laughed at almost.

Thoughts?

If it wasn't done on SOP then it's invalid.

Anyway to bypass the fact? Don't use Sourceop or trade with people that only accept their rep, and tell people to use Skial instead.

While we don't have as many people trading unusuals for cash, we have more item traders, more users, 3 trade servers, and a better website. Now that there are better backpack viewers than tf2items.com, it is losing reason to be the main place to trade at.

It was almost a year before they decided to spend the money to buy a vbulletin license and put in Steam links. The owners are too busy to improve it and they never did much trading.

Wait, THAT'S why their site was so ugly? They wouldn't buy a damn license? Aren't those only a couple hundred bucks? Surely they made enough in donations to cover that a long time ago.

A vbulletin license costs around $100 and there are plugins that insert those icons for you. The previous owner works at Valve and the current owner works at Mozilla and don't have time to maintain it. And to my knowledge they have never been into trading.

While Sourceop/TF2items.com may have cost $500-$600/month back in 2007, it shouldn't cost half that now.

SourceOP rep will always be held in higher regard. This is a small community and almost every other community like RAWR has trading servers. No one goes to SourceOP for the fancy website. They upgraded it because of the old board was getting hacked and a clone server was put up that cost a few players some serious headaches. If that cloned site didn't open up they would still be on their vanilla board.

If you want serious trading done Skial doesn't even register to the average trader. Not a fan of the moderation team on SOP but if you need to move high value items they get the most looks. If you have smaller items then Outpost would be your best bet.
