Found this in the FAQ: A Tour of Duty Ticket gives you access to Mann Up Mode, and can be purchased from the Mann Co. Store for $0.99.

Valve is making us pay just to track our stats!
I appreciate that it is a very small cost, but my parents refuse to add money to my Steam account. So some, like me, will forever be unable to track our MvM stats...

BTW: I'm not F2P

goto game stop buy a steam card or buy one of those visa /debit gift cards and use that

What is Mann Up Mode?
When you play Mann vs. Machine on an official Mann Co. server, this is called Mann Up Mode. Mann Up Mode allows you to earn special item rewards and track your progress through various Missions. To enter Mann Up Mode, you must possess a Tour of Duty Ticket.

Not sure what to think about this.

valve servers = offical mann co servers
so people will be mainly on unoffical servers

Yeah but that's essentially turning community run MvM servers into gimped demos.

$0.99 isn't a lot so the people that want to continue playing MvM for more than a day would probably only play on Mann Co servers.

So apparently, a ticket is used for each mission completed, and there are 5 missions.

At the end of the last mission an MvM only item is dropped for the player.

You can buy a Squad Surplus Voucher to get everyone in the game the item at the end of a single mission.

So the cost of 1 item is $1 for the ticket and $2 for the voucher, so $3 per item. If you split the cost of a voucher among the other 5 players, that comes out to $1.33 per MvM item.

Once you use the ticket will you be able to go on to the mann up mode forever or just that one time?

I don't get what the big deal is. The ticket is basically just like buying a hat from the store, only its a long, drawn out process. I mean, if you only had to buy once, then a lot of people would do official, but you have to pay for each ToD, so most will be on unofficial. Course, that means after update we gotta wait for unofficial servers, cause I'm not paying money for those tickets, nor am I paying some guy 20 ref for one. If there's a new item I really want, I'll either trade for it or deal with not having it.

So if we have to pay every time we want to play that ToD thing and on official Valve servers, all our hopes rest on Skial.
