Soldier, Scout, and Spy were the ones in the secret rooms, they're plotting something.

Was it always like that? Or did they change it for the 2nd ARG?

Pretty sure Gray is just the robots that RED and BLU will fight against. If it was another team entirely, that would be stupid. TF2 is meant for two teams fighting, look at the maps.

I agree, but they may make new game modes where it supports 3 teams at once. If RED and BLU are designed to fight against even an AI it would have to support some kind of 3rd team spawn area anyways. If this is truly what it is - a 2 year buildup, I suspect a massive change to the gameplay. They've ran with the same 9 classes for a long time. I'm not saying it's a good thing to add a new class, I'm just saying it seems something worth a 2 year buildup.

Put RED and BLU into the same spawn, they are probably going to be on the same side.

When adding a new class, they need to make sure game balance is compatible with the other 9. Seems a bit to much for Valve to go into so much trouble, when game balance is great the way it is. Not saying a new class isn't impossible, just unlikely.

Like I said, I don't think its a good idea, but if you put a lot of planning into one update, your changes aren't just going to be a few new items, and even a new game mode is a stretch. This will implement something bigger. Maybe some form of campaign that has transitional updates - releasing a swathe of new (vintage) items (most likely 1 for each class) a new game mode(s) and most likely a boss. New class may be presumptuous but when you look at some of the other "big" updates, they don't seem as important as this one.
