Scam Calls Landline

Anyone else get these calls from an East Indian caller saying they are from Microsoft and we have a virus and all that bullshit. It has been going around in this province for many months. It is a well known scam. They been calling EVERY half hour ALL DAY! Number is 125-678-9993. Just curious as to how can it reaches. Post your state or Country.
 
I just breathe down the phone until they hang up. I'm talking general telemarketers though.
 
I used to put my kids on the phone and let them babble nonsense when they were really little. I took out my land line a few years ago as my cell phone is good enough if I need to be reached. If one happens to get through to my cell I just pull out my Consuela voice if I am bored.. No, no Ms. Trish no home. No, no she no here.

Seriously though, every half hour?? You can't block the number?
 
When anyone calls asking for more info about me or if they are telemarketers, I usually repeat everything they say in question form. i.e. Telemarketer -"Hello, I'm interested in telling you about this amazing new product". Me - "Am I really interested in this amazing new product?" And it just goes on from then until they hang up.

I highly recommend it, it's a real kicker.
 
I did once (He even described the Brand.) which creeped me out. So I just started going with it and then he said to "Go to our website to Download the new Windows Update." I just searched for Two Girls one cup and started complaining that this is what the link brought me too.

Phone calls from that company or any other companies in that sector since that- -1

Nope, Bell doesn't have a blocking feature on landline.

That's why the solution is darn simple - you discontinue your landline service. Who the fuck needs landline nowadays anyway? Unlimited Calls+Text+Data from T-Mobile costs 50$/month for fuck's sake (not even talking about MetroPCS).
 
I'm from Florida and I received a total of 6 calls like that last month. It was 6 different phone numbers, too, but the stories were almost the same. It's about a virus in my computer and that it was gonna crash my system. Had I not known about this scam before, I might have worried and allowed the caller access to my computer. In my line of work, I use my computer a lot and it's a big setback if it stops even for just a day. But I knew better and did not let the caller finish. I hung up.

In my case, the scammers used the following phone numbers:

999-910-0122
0911800456324
123-456-7890

I clearly remember them since I reported them all to Callercenter to raise a warning.
 
Here in Brazil we constantly receive calls from Embratel, one of the phone service provider, talking about promotions and discounts.

That's when I head out to my hunting camp that is 20 miles from the nearest town, 3 miles back in the woods with a pump well, generator, wood stove and propane back up lights and chill out with my weapons arsenal while you guys fight back the zombies and theives. This is why I live up in the wilderness :-P
 
XC I want a call, so I can do something strange or weird to freak out the telemarketer out.

I'm with Shula. And when all the Zombies are dead, and me and Shula are the only ones left on earth, and civilization needs re-populating, I'll be there to take one for the team :)
