Sorry to burst your bubble, but the Admin's primary responsibility is to make sure all players have fun and want to rejoin. If one member is being abusive and causing a nuisance to other players, no matter if it's a written rule, they should have every right to silence/kick/ban you as they feel the need. This isn't a democracy. At least that is my view as a player.

if an admin ever "makes up a rule" then it was done so to prevent something that was disruptive to the server as a whole/other players. its pretty easy to not be disruptive. hell, when i taunt with flygineer, its annoying to me included. if you go out of your way to be disruptive with the taunt, an admin is within their right to take action. if you arent being disruptive, then youre fine.

An admin's job is to enforce the rules that are set in place and represent the community. Just because someone is being annoying or abusive doesn't mean they're going to get punished for it, especially if they haven't actually broken any rules. You can be the most toxic asshole on the server and yet not get kicked or banned or whatever, as long as you still follow the rules. That's why you have a mute/ignore option. And the choice to go to another server.

Upon re-reading my post I didn't word what I meant well. What I originally wanted to mean was I'll let admins use their discretion and if it comes to a point where there is a disagreement about if something should or shouldn't be allowed then the admins and/or Bottiger should decide if it should be considered a rule or not. Apparently Bottiger already said flygineer can be considered spam but Jermaphobe using his discretion decided it wasn't spam and that a votesilence on that flygineer was abusive. Now, because of the debate of if the vote was in the right or not, it has become an issue. It is not anyone's place to discuss that series of events but the people that make and enforce the rules to decide what to do going forward. This thread does nothing to help and encourages people to get heated and emotional at each other.

TLDR I'll let admins decide who and who not to ban and I'll let them decide what to do when there is disagreement about rules.

Many rules have been removed, modified, or expanded upon because of players suggesting changes. Ultimately, it falls upon Bottiger since he is the owner but that said, it is not left only to the staff to make changes or enforce rules.
