Declined Remove the reports from "recent threads"

Only been here a week or so, and ive noticed thread titles of reports being changed so new visitors dont see it, but the only ones usually in the threads are admins or people gathering evidence for said admins, if they were removed from recent threads, people that need to see them would still know where to go and new visitors wouldnt see those thread titles to begin with

if thats true then why do we keep having to change thread titles to avoid people seeing what they said?

Just how many thread titles have you personally had to change? If your answer is none, your argument is invalid. Mod's have changed some titles so as to be less abrasive to newcomers.

Edit: If you are so concerned with changing titles, perhaps your suggestion should have been for stricter guidelines on thread titles.

Personally, I think this is really one of those mod-only discussions. However I do like to read the reports for entertainment value. Watching people try to get out of trouble is hilarious. Some of the things people report are equally hilarious. So, to sum it up...

Well, as a compromise, I would say reconfigure it to display the server it was reported from as the title instead of other content. Then there would never be an issue with an inappropriate title.

well, in theory, you could download Google Talk (assuming your account here is linked with a gmail account), leave Google Talk up, and get a notification every time a new thread in the reports section is made. that's probably even more accurate and timely than refreshing the page.

For the most part, people who aren't admins or mods posting in a report thread are shitposting without realizing it. Restating the same thing that someone had said earlier in the thread, contributing not at all, things of this nature.

zal's idea would cut down on those folks but it wouldn't stop them. it would prevent people from having to rename threads and crap so vigilantly, even though that's only been a problem very recently. most people don't get reported with the N word in the title of said report.

(although there are more efficient ways, I'm sure, of preventing the latter)
