Two weeks ago everyone was against banning people from channels without even a warning, now everyone is for it?
Maybe I can explain that, as to why I think these points of views fluctuate so much, mostly in the 2nd part.

The guy in question is banned here with 2 warning points for racism cases only. So to spew that on discord's general channel, people obviously not wanting to see that and we established that the general chat is the place where new members or players would potentially ask questions or be welcomed. Demanding a warning for him before taking action seems a little bit too forgiving. Not that I would truly believe he would out of the sudden change his attitude with a warning beforehand.

What I admit however is, that it just happens so rarely that we need to take action on discord that there was no workflow established for these cases yet. So it is indeed possible that there will be differences to handling them. If you want to establish a workflow that requires a warning beforehand, please write it down and hand it to the team, because right now I see a "place with no rules", yet "we dont want to see this or that, please take action", so with enough support and a little bit of thinking one can still make a decision. So far it was always up to the Discord admin's discretion to decide which course to take, but with that many admins and no workflow the opinions are and always will be different. It mustn't necessarily always be the right decision one admin decides for.

That is solely my thinking and opinion.

It isn't that complex.

Here are the current rules for Discord (you can look through the channel pins, this is all):
• No child pornography.

Courtney was banned from General despite not breaking this rule and not receiving a warning. She gets unbanned and the majority of people want rules as a response.
Nothing was banned from every channel but Shitposting despite not breaking this rule and not receiving a warning. But it's OK since the majority of people are probably in favor.

So here's the impression I'm getting; here are the actual rules for Discord, as they're being enforced:
• No child pornography.
• Don't make people angry.

There's nothing intrinsically wrong with this. Lots of places are hugboxes. I just happen to think they're shitty.

So making people angry because of differing opinions from the public discourse isn't allowed? I'm not really sure why people religiously defend their opinions in the form of suppressing another person's opinion, despite those actually being statistical facts.

But I guess the rules don't matter.. even if there aren't any rules? I'm confused. lol

Differing opinions is one thing, being a racist and sexist openly is another.

The equivalent rebuttal is: "It's one thing to shit talk one thing, it's another to shit talk Jesus Christ."

Honestly if you've seen my incredibly blunt sentiments regarding women among other topics, people are able to defend themselves just fine, but I'm guessing we have to treat women like they can't defend themselves? I dunno, I thought equality was the opposite of that. Continued discussion in the general section of Discord would be lovely, but again I'm a bit confused as to what non-rule.. rules I broke. It's basically a religion for you folks to white knight someone who was able to somewhat defend themselves.

Well you see, if you actually paid attention, there ARE rules in Discord. Being moronically racist and sexist for no reason is against the rules and is the reason why you can't post outside of the shitposting channel

I was also clarified that in General Discord that the rules of the forums did not apply to the Discord server. Though there's a no CP rule in Shitposting.

I don't care about "white knighting", the point is that your "views" will actively drive people away from the Discord server. If a girl comes into the server and sees some neo-Nazi preaching about how women are inferior to men and should stay in their place and other garbage like that, they're not going to want to stay.

Also since you seem to be unaware, the suggestion about enforcing forum rules in Discord was approved.

Women are equal, therefore they won't need to defend or get offended by my views. If they don't like it, simply block me, there's no reason to actively pursue someone because of different opinions. Hell, the fact you're implying that women need to be defended shows that they might be inferior, but I never said that, they just have a role (or had a role) that was established for a healthier society.

Also, not a National Socialist, the word you also used is just a silencing tactic without any arguments presented.

I'm not going to debate you over politics, you completely missed the point of what I said anyway.

you were insanely annoying to everyone and for some reason it's completely impossible for you to open your mouth about anything other than politics.

Not everyone, besides, the block feature exists if you don't want to be annoyed. I was told I'm apparently not worth the effort to block, but I am worth the effort to get almost a server-wide ban. :>

So women are more easily driven off then men? You sexist pig.
When you are specifically targeting women not men yes.

Just like if I am specifically trying to keep small children away I'll tell them we are knitting.

That drives away children more than it does adults. So therefore a sexist person targeting women is going to drive women off more than men
