+1 Why does Bottiger bother to add slop like this when good maps like Steamworks and Technoir get removed?
To reach more players by striking something familiar to play on Skial servers.

I can't speak on behalf of the general public, but seeing a Hawk Tuah map being played would likely raise interest in exploring it.
If I see a map with Steamworks or Technoir, it would appear to be a complex map.
Out of my preference, I prefer maps that are universally fun to play with amongst players.

Bottiger did state this before: "The main reason why "hardcore" deathrun just doesn't work is really simple. 30 dead players watching 1 person complete the map is not good gameplay. Neither is it fun for the activator."

This is still evident today on complex dr maps. (PQ, Bits, etc in similarity.) Knowing how to surf or strafe is not a universal skill. And when it's involved, it's a gatekept feature that will require users to research how to do and for all that? I still don't know how to surf or strafe accurately years after lol.

Can't get better players if we remove all the maps for them to get better. Bottiger is personally plucking the feathers of my wings as if they were my pubic hairs.

I made three attempts at Bits alone in the EU server since it is ded.‎‎
The third part of the map is complex because it requires the ability to perform a strafe jump, as shown in the video below.
(I play with a controller because I started TF2 from the Orange Box)

Now you can sit back and state that I should learn to perform the jump.
This does not resolve a player's experience to instantly make them capable of doing it next round.

All in all, this will result in the player going AFK because they are searching up how to strafe jump, while those who do so continue until the map changes.
Which brings it to this:

How are they supposed to then? They can search up tutorials on YouTube on how, but so many contradictions interfere. The duration of any map on DR is 30 minutes, so by the time they finish watching 1 tutorial, the map will be changed. So they will have to wait until the map comes back around again after cooldown. Sure, they can practice like I did on the EU server while it's down, but it wasn't fun lol.

Then again, what is fun? The meaning of it is subjective. Is it the experience to practice the jump until the capability of accomplishing it in a brain-dead state? Or collectively able as a group to form a stimulus in their brain, defeating the hale? That is entirely up to the sole discretion of the newcomer. I will take the second option because I should not have to hassle myself by learning a gatekept feature for a DR server. Just because someone did does not mean others must share in the misery.

We cannot decide what is fun for them if it is fun for us. I joined this forum to oppose the removal of Hawk Tuah after those who bragged about the count here from the chat presume that watching them reach the end of (strafe/surf "hardcore deathrun") maps continuously was bringing me any fun to begin with! Call it rage bait or whatever label you use to cope when exposed to different points of view. Others have preferences, and that should be acknowledged. I acknowledge the dislike towards Hawk Tuah, and they are free to make their conclusions based on it. But do I cry about it and virtue-signal on a suggestion against Bits, PQ, and other maps when they can be, if not worse? No.

I trust in the decision-making process of Skial's Leadership, whichever it may be. I'll be disappointed without a doubt if Hawk Tuah gets removed. If they want me to learn to strafe/surf to play on their maps, then I can try because I care about the fun I had on Skial. However, this is just by my account. I'll stress the importance of universally fun maps. Newcomers may not partake in the same struggle to learn, and if there is a way to continue growing Skial, then keeping maps universally fun is a business strength that got me here in the first place.

He wasn't even moving forward on the second attempt. Staged propaganda

I didn't jump far when I was holding W (or holding the analog stick forward on the controller) with jump, as seen in the first attempt.

On the second attempt, I tried not holding the key (or the stick) to go farther. It did not. I am not accustomed to jumping precisely when the platform stops.

Third, I went back to thinking it could be a way from the first attempt that I had not observed correctly. Again, not perfect timing when the platform stops.

You're supposed to jump forward right before that platform in the Celeste part stops.
If anything that moving platform is an IQ test like how the second trap on dr_dustgrowl with the falling bomb is one too.

buddy if only 5-10 people liked the map it would never win votes

I remember people only hating it when Kilo was greifing. People loved it before that.
And it needs to be removed till 256 is fixed/removed.

Even without Kilo trolling it, it's terrible.
The map isn't bad, the theme is.

You guys should be bitching about Bazinga, it's the same style with a spammable minigame.
