Relatively New trader looking for a starter

I've only been trading for maybe a week now. I already know all the basics, but my main problem is just making profit. I was lucky and got a crate 40 which I sold for 7 keys 2 days after I started trading. And since then I have been making profit by buying craft hats for 1.11 each and then selling for 1.33 each. The problem with this is that I feel it is incredibly slow, I can on average make about 0.44-0.66 a day. And that's a whole day of trying to buy and sell the hats.
I've also tried to merchant crate 40's but that only happened once which I was lucky enough to find a seller and buyer.
I'm just looking for some better ways to merchant stuff. Cause I feel my method at the moment is very slow :( Any help would be appreciated thanks :)

P.S. I feel like there are a good amount of people in the community who scam, cause I've been scammed twice already in a week. And even though it was only for 1 ref each time, It still set me back
 
keep going, you're doing good, there is no fast way in trading, maybe few
but its all about patient :) i also do what you doing now
 
go trade server hopping, that's what i did

also binds will help you not have to type so much

for example, you'd type this into console

bind "insertkeyhere" "say Selling hats, 1.33"
 
You may want to try experimenting with some other profit techniques. While you do this hat trading this, you can try to find another item/category that you can profit on such as scrap banking and methods of the sort.
 
Yup thats what I'm trying to do, just observing to see what people often buy. But I've only been around for a week so I don't know how much prices will rise or drop in a short amount of time, so I'm still playing it safe :)
