Currently someone can spend 30 respawn waves in spawn without being moved to spectator, this means in a regular 10 v 10 situation, your team is going to be fighting a losing situation constantly, them being moved to spectator will fix this by preventing worse situations where you fight 11v10 with 1 afk, or worse, 11 v10 with 2 afks, making it 11 v 8, and nobody here is going to tell me that in a balanced situation this is in any way fun unless you are purposely playing the game in a different way

This suggestion has been implemented. Votes are no longer accepted.
I think it'd be nice to lower it to one minute and forty-five seconds or two minutes.
That definitely would work nicer than it currently is. This keeps AFKs constantly in check. I know this because another server I visit every here and there has it set to around two minutes or something and there's rarely an AFK in spawn.

30 seconds seems a little severe to me, maybe make it 2 minutes instead?

30 seconds, a minute, maybe 90 seconds, anything longer is overkill, it's not like you will be kicked immediately when you get moved to specator, it's just so that the people who are still playing the game get to play it without griefers/people who to to the toilet/dumb-asses who forget that they are playing tf2 do not ruin the game by standing idle in the spawn room, the faster this happens, the better, If you abandoned your team to do something non tf2 related, you should be moved to spectator if you choose to harm your team by not moving to spectator/quiting tf2. Not playing for so long forfeits your right to stay in the same team when you return, especially when you disappointed your entire team by staying idle in the spawn room when they are risking their very lives on the battle field saving your ass from being decimated

It needs to be shortened indeed. I don't give a flying fuck about why it's that long, it's just retarded to let anyone be afk for 5 minutes while your team goes up against a team with more players.

It's not comp. On a 32 player server, if one player is afk it's usually not a big deal. It's usually the 3rd spy anyways.

I like the minute and a half length

Everything you say I hear in rainbowdash's voice. Calm down.

Someone shitting up the game is never a good thing, if you want to stay on the server then make a suggestion that you want the spectator afk kick to be longer, I do not wish to have useless lugage in my team dragging me down from inside the spawning room

On a 32 player server there are often more players afk making it a big deal.
Not really

The difference between 2v3 is huge, but the difference between 15v16 isn't. It would have to be like... 16/10 for it to even begin to feel the same, and at that point it's likely not all of those afks are even going to be on the same team. Heck, votescramble a couple of times and you won't have them on the same team anymore.

sometimes scrambles gives one team the 3 spies, 4 snipers, and the 3 afks. :c

scrambling does NOT fix the idling issue, it is not a legit counter to anything that has to do with this thread

1 afk does not mean 1 less person, it can easily mean more then that, 17v16, and that team of 16 having 1 idle, or 2, or 8,

not that this matters, as this also affects 24 player servers, where its common to have only 10 players per team, and at this point having one less player does matter

nobody wants to do another scramble after you do one
Lies. Well, at least in Turbine that's a lie. We've scrambled 3 times in a row because we knew that the teams were stacked and didn't want to manually unstack them.

Again, I'm wondering which of the maps you haunt. Sounds like i need to do some seeding there.

Also sorry, what i said was a direct counter to ozone saying the problem was worse on servers with higher population.

That's what you think, but you are as wrong as the people who think that the huntsman is all skill. It doesn't matter if it's on a 32 person server or not afks are still going to lower your chances of winning since you'll have less fighting power than the enemy team regardless of what class is afk.
