It floods just as much as regular chat, so why shouldn't it be limited as well?

Ok, remove prints to chat and add a 5-10 second flood protect. This would prevent any potential lag, and remove messages from spamming chat.

if !gimme took the ratio of current ammo to max ammo into account instead of giving ammo for every weapon change, this problem would take care of itself

setting the cvar tf2items_giveweapon_notify to 0 will disable output to chat

I found nothing about other outputs

I think they're talking about every half second, you don't do it anywhere near every five seconds.

It's to instant - reload a full ammo round. Which is approximately every 5 seconds. There is no point in doing so any faster. No flood there man. I personally like Drum's idea.
