Such a dumb question but, how do you remove this pc, network, and control panel and username folder from desktop?

I like the idea. A lot :) but i wouldn't have the space to put all my stuff on. :P

With just a double click on the desktop, i can make my icons appear or disappear. and i can re-size my fences (those boxes) so it doesn't take up all the room on the desktop.
I normally have it turned off, I have got wallpapers of steelseries changing every 10 min.
