If /spawnmob isn't available to regular users, why should the spawner eggs be?

because spawner eggs can be obtained in limited numbers through controled sources ( a player with admin and creative can give a player 2 cow eggs(?) to start a farm) and are easy to track(like TNT). whereas somebody with access to /spawnmob can bind /spawnmob ghast 200 to whatever item they want and utterly balls things up making it a responsibility that is a lot riskier trust even the regs with.

IIRC powertool is restricted, and allowed mob types can be controlled as well as quantities. I do agree that it's likely easier to gum up the server with spawnmob than it is spawner eggs though. (Trusted individuals wouldn't do that though, right?)

I suppose restricting the eggs to just a couple of allowed types would be an agreeable compromise, animals only ofc.

While I don't see anyone sitting there and using the eggs to spawn 20000 mobs, I can still see there being an over abundance of animals eventually.
