Taunt and stealth rock are really good setup moves for online matches.
Could see stealth rock perhaps but [while there are 200+ moves that change status] alot are a slim chance and a select few are on legendaries / signature.

When there's pokemon with levitate or flying types? Alot of the time, they don't have status condition moves...
Use gravity for flying types. Taunt isn't just denying status moves you can also deny other setup moves such baton pass, belly drum, and protect which can really screw over pokemon made for setting up and even force them into a premature struggle if you're lucky.

His Gliscor doesn't have nor can it learn Gravity, also, I'm fairly, of all pokemon types, water is the largest quantity, a vast majority of water types can learn ice type moves, both 2x and 4x advantage over Gliscor (respectively)

gliscor isn't a sweeper or attacker or anything like that, so he doesn't need to deal direct damage to anything.
his main source of damage/usefulness comes from stalling with toxic/swords dance+baton pass
if they have type advantage, then you switch out. you don't HAVE to take the hit you know.

Please dont try to argue why all competitive players use the wrong strategies.
They know what they are doing.
You are allowed to play casually, that's fine but dont say "Your playing it wrong and terribly" to the people who use actual strategy.

His Gliscor doesn't need to know gravity, another pokemon can use it before or after Gliscor is even called out.

Yay another Sceptile person! Sceptile is the memer of the 3.

I remember the episode gliscor forgot how to fly and ash had to carry him around

After playing the demo, I can confirm I'm a Sceptile guy.

However, my water type roots won't allow me not to use Swampert, which is why I'm gonna implement my previously stated plan once I get it for Christmas:
So new plan for ORAS is to use Swampert until about level 30ish, then switch him out for my shiny Wartortle named Nemmin. :D
(Gonna trade a Sceptile from X too)
