Current map voting system decides on one map at a time and all the votes for the other maps are ignored. Tyranny of the majority
I propose a system where after maps are voted for, the maps which lost keep their vote counts, and they are added to the vote counts when another map vote occurs in another map.
Here's an example: two maps A and B are voted for
A - 11 votes
B - 10 votes
A wins.
Map changes to A. Server time passes, another vote
C - 11 votes
B - 10 votes
But since B lost last time, votes from previous round carry over for B, leading to
C - 11 votes
B - 10 votes now + 10 votes from previous round = 20 votes
B wins.
Tyranny of the majority defeated! B fan minority no longer oppressed! B fans get to play map B, just wait a little bit.
You could add a coefficient too so that for example lost votes from previous round count half as much as votes in the current round. So instead of 10 votes now + 10 votes from previous round you would get 10 votes now + 0.5 * 10 votes form previous round = 15 votes.
I think this would be an innovative and original map decision strategy which would make more players satisfied in the long run.
