PC: Dirty Merc's Pride Scarf

Just traded a dirty Merc's Pride Scarf. Paid 2,11 ref for it, have no idea what it's worth. Thought I'd give it a shot :D. Can anybody enlighten me?

I think 2.11 ref is a good price. I wouldn't pay more than 2 ref for a dirty one though but from what I heard people pay around 2-3 ref for it.

Are there even clean ones? Since it's only a promotional/purchase item. The best offer I've gotten so far is 7 ref:

Yes there are clean ones. They sell for around 9 ref. The genuine ones are like 14 keys.

Ok, well I guess 7 ref is a pretty good price then. But just out of curiosity, how can there be clean ones? I thought all the promotional ones were genuines and the bought ones are of course dirty. So where do the clean ones appear? :D According to TF2 wiki it can't be crafted or dropped.
