What happened to the fast part? Many complaints. Some leaving.....
 
Red respawn time is longer now. Specifically on Payload US/LA servers
 
I'm looking at our settings and red respawn should be 8 seconds, blue respawn should be 3 seconds. That should still be much faster than standard respawn times.

On the last point the respawn times increase to 20 seconds for defense because that's the only way to make it possible to win. We haven't changed this for years.

I told him what you said and he said this:

I don't see any evidence that the respawn times are broken on Payload+ US Fast. I saw it get set at 8 for red and increase as the cart progressed.

We have had this system in place for probably almost 2 years now. Otherwise it is impossible for blue to win even with the lowest respawn rate possible in 32 players maps. I am talking about 5-10% chance to win for blue.

Was this randomly broken for a long time? Or were these people new to the server?
 
I've played the payload servers (US & EU) for awhile now and just recently they did seem to be taking longer. I wish I could point out the maps and exactly when but I heard from others and experienced 16+ seconds on some re-spawns (yes - red). Probably an anomaly but will check things out again. Thanks for checking into it.
 
We have had people complain about long respawn times on red a long time ago when we added them and we never removed it. You can ask @Biggie about it, I am sure he remembers.

If it disappeared, then it must have randomly broke and we had no idea.

The reason why we do it is that it can become impossible for blue to get past the 2nd and 3rd round even though blue has practically instant respawns. There's like a 10% chance for blue to win the 2nd or 3rd rounds and people complained that they only saw the 1st round all the time.
 
Hmmm... As it is now, 12-16 second re-spawn on last red with instant re-spawn on blue with two teleporters and the game is over. Red rarely has a chance. You have and study the server stats so it's probably just a perception issue. ....one of the reasons why red teams populate so slowly on Payload?
 
I enjoy the servers. I'll try to stop back and post what I see.
