I just got off the line with a battle.net support agent.
You can't add friends outside of your region at all. The agent said it was a, "side-effect of how the region servers work". And that they probably aren't going to be able to fix that at least not without a huge reworking of code.

That's quite fine. Us Americas-region players need not associate ourselves with peasants.
Weird they included Australia, though. I guess that means I can play with some Australian friends if one of us can stand the shitty ping.

Blizzard needs to add a play of the game pose/taunt what ever its called where its just Torbjorn's turret shooting at stuff with torbjorn nowhere to be found

Doesn't that give you separate ranks tho? I thought I saw some streamer having two different ranks when switching between regions and he didn't have his skins and stuff when using the other region

idk, I don't think it really matters, if you plan on playing with friends swap to one region and stay on it. If not stay put. Unless you have shitty middle of nowhere Texas internet.
i dont think so all switching regions does is let people see you online and invite you and shit, though i mean it might work like that, not that it'll effect me that much
You technically can. You just have to change the region when you log in, then log out and switch region again.
This is what i did. I logged in after selecting Europe as my region then added 2 european friends. I logged out, switched region to Americas and logged in again then added 1 friend from Americas. I stuck with Americas therefore i only have one friend i can chat with on the battlenet thingy. Fuck the 2 euro people. I can still play with them though because you can see friends from both regions in the "social" section (from what i understood and from what i could see on my screen).
So anyone from Americas can add me because i'm nice and can sacrifice my euro ping. lydee#21615
I'm not sure and i'm still confused as to how it works. The thing is i logged in from americas but played on EU servers. I'll have to try and log in from americas and actually play on american servers, which should normally work. I believe that's what @ToTeM did
Not exactly what i did, though i did fuck with regions a bit before hands so i might have activated some convienence setting
i mean i can add who ever i want, but i can only play with my region in game which i noticed early in the beta so i just switched to america on the button next to the play button and added them and played, there was nothing really complex about it :T
